What This Statement Covers
This statement explains how HIPAA applies to WoundScore and clarifies the boundary between WoundScore.com (this website) and the WoundScore clinical application.
WoundScore.com Is Not a HIPAA Covered Entity
WoundScore.com is the marketing and licensing website for the WoundScore wound assessment platform. This website handles account registration, subscription management, and product information only.
WoundScore.com does not collect, process, transmit, or store any Protected Health Information (PHI). No patient names, wound images, clinical assessments, medical record numbers, or any other individually identifiable health information are ever entered, uploaded, or stored on this website.
Because WoundScore.com does not create, receive, maintain, or transmit PHI, it is not a HIPAA covered entity and is not subject to HIPAA's Privacy Rule or Security Rule with respect to this website.
The Clinical Application Is Operated by AppleSoft Medical Solutions
The WoundScore clinical application, which clinicians use to photograph wounds, generate AI-assisted assessments, and produce OASIS-D1 documentation, is a separate product operated by AppleSoft Medical Solutions.
AppleSoft Medical Solutions operates the clinical environment under appropriate Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with covered entities, and maintains the administrative, physical, and technical safeguards required by the HIPAA Security Rule for any electronic PHI processed through the clinical application.
Business Associate Agreements
Healthcare agencies and covered entities that use the WoundScore clinical application may be required to execute a BAA with AppleSoft Medical Solutions before activating clinical features.
To request a BAA, visit the Business Associate Agreement page. Submit the form and a signed copy will be sent to you at the email address on file. You can also return a signed copy to compliance@woundscore.com.
